Handouts and Tests Pertaining to Nutritional Medicine Information

Over the years, from various meetings and some conventions, handouts pertaining to nutritional medicine have been handed. We have copied some of them as they contain beneficial and interesting information. We have included what some of the testing is like pertaining to nutritional medicine and some of the information that is available via the internet. Some of the information may have been updated or different terms are being used since it was prepared. It is arranged by topics and in alphabetical order. Again, this is a public service and to facilitate public understanding on topics pertaining to nutrition.

Allergies Unfortunately, more and more people and children are experiencing allergies. The key to dealing with allergies is to identify the sources or triggers that starts off an allergic reaction. Some of the allergic reactions can cover a broad range of reactions. It can result in serious harm including anaphylaxis.

Biological Classification
of Foods
This chart is a handy guide for anyone to decipher the various causes food may have on their symptoms. It is a one-page chart that can be used to work with food families and to identify hidden food allergies. If someone is allergic to a food within a food family, they may (or may not) be sensitive to other foods within that food family. It can be used in connection to implementating a food elimination diet.

Blood Sugar As many people are dealing with pre-diabetes and diabetes, we located a handout giving recommendations to deal with impaired glucose tolerance.
Note #1: Glucose is a type of sugar.
Note #2: Testing for these nutrients is recommended (mineral testing through hair testing analysis).
Note #3: Nutritional deficiencies are unfortunately common.

Food Allergies Food allergies can be immediate or delayed. They can also be foods that you are hypersensitive, which is biologically different from a food allergy. However, they can cause a number of problems, where we least suspect its cause. We have a chart listing various symptoms can can be considered a food allergy or something that you are hypersensitive to.

Gluten Sensitivity Testing The Gluten Free Society has a website where they offer genetic testing for gluten sensitivity.

Hair Analysis Testing The hair analysis test has been around awhile. Doctor's Data provides this test. It measures toxic metals as well as minerals. It is a non-invasive test. It gives out quite a bit of information.
Note #1: The hair analysis test can measure mineral levels.
Note #2: This is a test that has been banned in the state of New York.
Note #3: This test is available through Amazon.

Hearing Loss Chart This chart shows that even a mild hearing loss can affect one's ability to hear the consonants, especially the f, s, and th sounds. About 20 percent of Americans report some degree of hearing loss. At age 65, one in three Americans have a hearing loss. Before ruling out a number of health issues especially in older people, check out their hearing. As we age, the incidence of hearing loss increases.

Leaky Gut

This is an example of a test checking out leaky gut or intestinal permeability. As this test was performed quite some time ago, there are probably newer testing available. This shows that leaky gut can be measured and research shows that it has a role in autoimmune issues.

Mental Illness As more attention is being paid to the numbers of Americans experiencing mental illness, this is a two-page handout from the Well Mind Association of Greater Washington, Inc. covering various factors in mental illness. Treating mental illness is not a simple one prescription fix. There are a number of factors that affect one's mental health.

Schizophrenia As much as a hundred years ago, schizophrenia was a feared type of mental illness and doctors at the time had no clue as to whether there was a nutritional component. In fairly recent decades, more information has been discovered regarding schizophrenia and its role to diet as well as nutrients. This handout covers the three types of biochemical variants in schizophrenia.

Vaccine Exemption The Center for Disease Control does cover some information on vaccine exemptions. These exemptions vary from state to state.
Note #1: There are generally three types of exemptions. It can include religious, medical, and other (personal choice).

Vaccine Facts Educators and parents are seeing more children experiencing learning issues in the United States. This is a handout from the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) that list some basic facts. All legislators (on all levels of government in the U.S. This includes the federal, state, and local governments.) need to be made aware of these facts.

Vaccine Schedule The LearnTheRisk has a one page sheet listing vaccines for children from birth for 1960, 1983 and 2016. With each year, the list of recommended vaccines grows longer.
